Lowell served with the United States Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theatre and later served during the Korean War. He was employed at Marcy Psychiatric Center for 25 years, retiring in 1985. Helen had been a member of Perryville United Methodist Church. She had worked at Bristol Laboratories in Syracuse for several years. She had also lived in Chittenango and Manlius before moving to Perryville in 1949. Helen spent her early years in Ohio, graduating from school there.
